When Laura got in touch to talk about wedding photography for their Greenwich Park Wedding. I loved every detail she spoke of. They planned for a creative, urban wedding in the place they lived. Greenwich, London is so cool, it has a relaxed vibe, bustling market, beautiful historic architecture and as it turns out the best coffee in town.
Laura and Darren planned to marry at Peckham Registry office, they chose this place because of the beautiful secret gardens at the back of the building. The garden was verdant with the sweet smell of honeysuckle. The early rain on their wedding day, did not spoil the occasion. If anything it helped the garden come alive, the streets were shinning and the oppression of the heat just simmered down a little. Because the day before their wedding it was the hottest day on record in the UK. The rain was a welcome addition.
Intimate London Wedding
This was an intimate wedding with the closest family present. The following day Darren and Laura planned a big party with all their friends and family. The celebrations centred around their gorgeous flat in Greenwich. They made bright decorations, blew up balloons to decorate the house. There was a party spirit. The popped champagne and had the most delicious cake. They all threw confetti and had a crazy unicorn piñata.
Most importantly all the nearest and dearest to Laura and Darren were present to witness this beautiful wedding. The couple wrote their own vows, it was so emotional. Darren spoke of making Spaghetti Bolognese and its utter love for Laura. While Laura explained she was an independent woman who did not need a man, right up to the time Darren walked in with his big brown eyes and American drawl.
Darren and Laura you guys were amazing, I loved being part of your wedding day. You totally rocked the whole day, and I wish you all the best. Congrats of your wedding day.
I had the best compliment from Darren’s Mum, as we were about to do the confetti shot, she turned to me and said
” Here you are, here’s some confetti.. oh I am sorry it felt like you were part of the family and not just the photographer”
Thats so cool and it made me smile. It’s not the first time people have thought I was a guest at a wedding, because that’s how I work. My style is working unobtrusively, relaxed, reportage natural wedding photography.
