Do I need my photo on the About Me page of my website?

Why do we need a photo of ourselves on your about me page? After all people are buying your product or service, so what difference does it make in how you look? Having a photograph of yourself on your business page immediately enables your customers to connect with you. The old adage that people buy from people is never truer, especially in the current digital universal.
