A truly English thing is to host a Summer Garden party, without rain, with perfect blue sky, a beautiful jazz band playing melodies in the background while people chat, laughter is made and birds fly past. This would be an idillic moment, a once in a life time occurrence, but some how Mike and Zoe made this happen in the middle of August in their parents back garden in Somerset. It was absolutely amazing!! It was the most beautiful garden wedding that I have been to for a long time. The best way to describe it is laid back garden beauty.
Zoe and the girls got ready at the beautiful historic county hotel Lutrrell Arms in Dunster, this is a special place to Mike and Zoe as it is really close to Dunster Castle when Mike proposed to Zoe, swoon! after a fast car ride with Zoe’s dad to Combe Flory Church we walked down the road to the garden party. There was so much detail that made this day just perfect for these two geogous folk. One of the best bits of the day was in the middle of the best man’s speech by Mike’s brother, his phone rang and it was their Grandad who was too poorly to attend the wedding, he managed to face timed him! So the whole wedding party waved and cheered making the best photo and also he became part of the wedding day after all.
The evening party kicked off with a surprise from Zoe’s best friend as she sang “Feeling Good” because she made promise when they were kids that she would sing at Zoe’s wedding – just the sweetest thing. Congratulations Zoe and Mike you are both amazing people and I wish you every success in the future.
