Birds Eye View
I have had a lovely day, out in the sun on a family photoshoot with a really, really dear friend. Being with another family on such a close level, to me it always feels like I have a birds eye view into another little community, a family. As they relax into the photographs, they forget that I am there, they continue to talk to me as though I am not photographing them, they ignore me (which sounds awful but it is actually the response I need from them) They realize that I use the big black apparatus of the camera as an extension of what I am seeing. I document and capture there truly special moments, the intimate times, the love, the fondness, the happiness and even perhaps the odd crossed word or playfulness teasing between siblings.
These in-between moments are not always seen but they are recorded, documented and preserved on the photographs that I take.
