Tom and Lisa Got Married

Tom and Lisa wedding was held at Bude Castle followed by a delicious wedding breakfast of fresh fish and chips at there very own Rosie’s Kitchen Cafe right on the beach in Bude, it was an amazing, exciting and very happy occasion!! The wind was blowing and there was some epic surf too – check out some of the photos to see what I mean!

The whole day felt like a really relaxed beach side wedding, I was so lucky to photograph them from 10am until 10pm, just so I could capture all the key moments in the day plus lots of candid photographs of guests and details. I loved all the props and pretty table decorations created by Nat of Jolly Good Wedding along with an amazing wedding cake made by family and friends. Cydney Brown {EP Promo Photoshoot}

It was a trek across the sand dunes in North Devon to get to the location for the photoshoot with Cydney Brown, local singer song writer, but it was totally amazing when we arrived. The wind was blowwing a hooli which just added to our low key natural photos, no wind machines were required! Her new song titled Fog and soon to released EP can be heard here. After a recent gig at renowned Mama Stones owned by Joss Stones family, so things are looking great for this rather talented singer!

We had a chat about the sort of photos that Cydney wanted then came up with the plan of location that brought some of these together like natural homely feel of the Devon countryside, laid back, beach vibe, cool love..and the rest we just created on set, here’s the result >>>

Festival of Colour Gitta and Sim {PreWedShoot Part2}

Bam!! Part two of Gitta and Sims prewedding photoshoot, if you missed the first post you can see it here This is when we got the Holi powder out and celebrated! I have to say until this point Gitta and Sim were so kind and gentle with each other, it was beutiful but then, it’s like a war broke out and it was full on powder fighting!! Bright hues welcoming spring, celebrating the end of a dark winter, celebrating a new beginning. This was an epic shoot and I hear the laughter as I look back over these photographs I see creative, fun and happy people.

Gitta and Sim {PreWedShoot} Part 1

Pre Wedding photos shoots should be fun, as it’s a time to get to know each other and this was one was an absolute ball. Gitta and Sim got in touch with me about there totally handmade Do-It-Yourself wedding and I loved every single little detail. They planned to get married in there own personal way, in the local village hall of Uffculme, Devon. Sim’s Mum is making Gitta’s dress, Sim and his family are making the food and there wedding bands are being formed from each of there parents wedding rings – that has to be the most original and beautiful creation that I have ever heard of. This is going to be an amazing wedding. These two are creative, talented, inspirational and full of love it was an utter pleasure to go for a walk with them and take some photographs. This shoot even included my favorite book as a child – Haunted House by Jan Pienkowski We finished the photographs with a colourful power fight which is so awesome I have to give it a post all of it’s own.

Gina’s Graffiti Photoshoot

I went for a walk and a talk with Gina and I took some photos on the way… We laughed lots, especially when the balloons blew away, must try to remember the skills I learnt from my Knots and Ropes badge in Brownies. So we hung out in Exeter, Gina brought a bag of colourful clothes, wigs and accessories. I went in search of textured backgrounds {I know its a strange fascination I have, but come on a photoshoot with me and you will see what I mean} I brought my cameras, some film and this is a sneak peak at what happened….

Andrew and Beccy get married at Muddifords Court

Muddifords Court County House near Cullompton, Devon is one of my favorite Do-It-Yourself wedding venues as you get the whole house and all the lovely gardens for the whole weekend… plus it is so laid back it makes everyone feel like they have escaped! Becky and Andrew decided to get married there in The Cider Barn followed by a BBQ dinner and Hog roast. This super smiley couple and there gorgeous daughter are just so happy together. I was asked to come along for a couple of hours to take some photos of the ceremony and there friends and family. I am always really flexible as I think it’s your wedding day so have it your way, but as I am often with a couple for most of the day this wedding was a bit of a different way to work, as I had to work much, much faster which made the photos taking process take up more time after the ceremony. Usually I take couple shots for 15 minutes then cadid shots of the guests then some more couple shots through out the day, as I feel it allows the bride and groom to socialize as well has have a number of relaxed informal photographs. I had a great time at Becky and Andrew’s wedding, there was a great sense of family, shared love and lots of laughs. Of course it rained and rained but who cares really when you have such warmth created by a whole new family? Congratulations Mr and Mrs Parker.

Great Gatsby

I just can’t wait to go and see The Great Gatsby next month, I love the lavish sets created by Baz Luhrmann, the carefree era of the 1920′s with the bejeweled head dresses and tassel swishing costumes are just sumptuously fabulous. I have to admit that Baz Luhrmann is a movie hero of mine and these BEHIND THE SCENES SHOTS take you away to another time, look at the rooms …they are epic! Perfect hedonism, expressed in the roaring 20′s darrling and don’t you just love it? Last year I did a fashion shoot inspired by the glamour of The Great Gatsby, with 1920′s car, full vintage make up and some dashing chaps see more here along with inspiration from our Pinterest board

Night time escape from @Bristol

SHHH!!! It was almost the witching hour and we were in the centre of Bristol all attending the evening wedding fair aptly named Weird and Wonderful wedding show… but we escaped from Bristol Planetarium and fled into the city to make some creative night time wedding photos… these are the results. {The models were wearing a mix of wedding dresses from suppliers including Angels Carry Savage Weapons, Lisa Keating Bridal, Drac in a Box, Emily Garrod, Beyond Burlesque and Jessica Charleston.Thanks so much to the all the gorgeous models plus the hair and make up teams.}

Weird And Wonderful Wedding Show

The Weird and Wonderful Wedding Show held @Bristol science centre was an eclectic mix of alternative wedding suppliers from across the South West. I was so pleased to photograph the models at night in the planetarium, as it was such a different location and one that is perfect for an evening or winter wedding. The models were wearing a mix of wedding dresses from suppliers includingAngels Carry Savage Weapons, Lisa Keating Bridal, Drac in a Box, Emily Garrod,Beyond Burlesque and Jessica Charleston.

Thanks so much to the all the gorgeous models plus the hair and make up teams who made this wedding event truely wonderful and slightly weird!
